We have been honoured to be working with our client Eva Abley for six years. Eva has had cerebral palsy since she was born. Some of the symptoms of CP include shakes, which makes daily tasks others may find easy hard. For example, writing by hand or carrying a tray to a table. She is able to do most things a non-disabled person may do but in an adapted way.
At Brownbill we have assisted Eva with many aspects of her life. Her Case Manager Laura Seager has provided help with clinical psychology, Support Worker recruitment, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy amongst others.
We were pleased to see a recent video circulating the internet, in which Eva aims to help ‘Spread the Kindness’. In the video, Eva teaches us about what it means to have a disability and how it is okay to be different. The interactive video which can be used in schools, encourages you to pause and engage with the conversation. It asks what you think a disability is and how you may be able to help someone with a disability.
Some of the ways Eva encourages people to help someone with a disability is to be nice and also invite them to talk to you and your friends. You can watch the full video here.
What’s next for Eva Abley?
Eva used her lived experience to raise awareness by sharing this video. She also took part in Britain’s Got Talent in 2022 with her stand up comedy act. Eva continues to do stand up shows and raise awareness of her disability and how we can all be more kind. We’re so proud of Eva and all she has achieved in her life so far. We can’t wait to continue to work with her and see what she does next!
